Inspection procedure

  1. Check sliding roof function

  1. Check the auto operation with the slide open and tilt up switch (see page rf-9).

Ok: auto operation operates normally with slide open and tilt up switch.

  1. Delete dtc

  1. Delete the dtc (see page rf-7).

End

  1. Initialize sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly (sliding roof ecu)

  1. Check that the sliding roof drive gear can be initialized (see page rf-4).

Ok: sliding roof drive gear can be initialized.

  1. Check sliding roof function

  1. Check the auto operation with the slide open and tilt up switch (see page rf-9).

Ok: auto operation operates normally with slide open and tilt up switch.

  1. Delete dtc

  1. Delete the dtc (see page rf-7).

End

  1. Check wire harness (sliding roof drive gear - overhead junction block)

Toyota RAV4. Check wire harness (sliding roof drive gear - overhead junction block)

  1. Disconnect the p6 ecu connector.
  2. Disconnect the p5 junction block connector.
  3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance

  1. Inspect overhead junction block (sliding roof control switch)

Toyota RAV4. Inspect overhead junction block (sliding roof control switch)

  1. Remove the overhead junction block.
  2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

On-vehicle inspection
Hint: When pressing the switch for 0.3 Seconds or less, the roof glass moves but auto operation does not operate. Check auto operation Turn the ignition switch on. When the roof glass is ...

Switch failure
Description This dtc is output when the sliding roof drive gear (sliding roof ecu) detects that the slide open or tilt up switch in the overhead junction block is stuck for 30 seconds or more. ...

Terminals of ecm
Check ecm Measure the voltage of the ecm connector. Hint: Each ecm terminal's standard voltage is shown in the table below. In the table, first follow the information under "condition". Look under "symbols (terminal no.)" For the terminals to be inspected. ...

Diagnosis system
Check dlc3 Check the dlc3: the power steering ecu uses can (iso11898-1) and iso9141-2 for communication protocol. The terminal arrangement of the dlc3 complies with sae j1962 and matches the iso9141-2 format. Notice: *: Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle ...

Pressure control solenoid "A" electrical (shift solenoid valve sl1)
Description Shifting from 1st to o/d is performed in combination with the on and off operation of the shift solenoid valves sl1 and sl2, which are controlled by the ecm. If an open or short circuit occurs in any of the shift solenoid valves, the ecm controls the remaining normal shift soleno ...
