Toyota RAV4 (XA40) 2013-2018 Service Manual: Removal

  1. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal

Caution:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

  1. Remove no. 1 Engine cover (see page es-410)

  2. Remove air cleaner cap (see page es-411)

  3. Remove camshaft position sensor

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
  2. Remove the bolt and sensor.
