Toyota RAV4 (XA40) 2013-2018 Service Manual: Installation
- Install engine coolant temperature sensor
- Install a new gasket onto the sensor.
- Using sst, install the sensor.
Sst 09817-33190 torque: 19.6 N*m (200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*Lbf)
- Connect the sensor connector.
- Install air cleaner case (see page es-431)
- Install air cleaner cap (see page es-413)
- Connect cable to negative battery terminal
- Add engine coolant (see page co-6)
- Check for coolant leakage (see page co-1)

Inspect no. 1 Cooling fan motor
Disconnect the no. 1 Fan connector.
Connect the battery and ammeter to the no. 1 Fan
motor connector.
Check that the no. 1 Fan rotates smoothly, and then
check the reading on the ammeter.

Coat the spline of the inboard joint shaft with gear
oil.
Using a brass bar and hammer, align the shaft
splines in the drive shaft.
