Components
Removal
- Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal
- Remove instrument panel sub-assembly upper
- Remove the instrument panel (see page ip-4).
- Remove power steering ecu
- Disconnect the 4 connectors.
- Remove the 3 nuts and remove the power steering ecu.
Installation
- Install power steering ecu
- Install the power steering ecu with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*Lbf)
- Connect the 4 connectors.
- Install instrument panel sub-assembly upper
- Install the instrument panel (see page ip-9).
- Connect cable to negative battery terminal

Reassembly (2006/01- )
Install front drive shaft bearing (for rh)
Install the bearing bracket snap ring to the inboard
shaft.
Using sst and a press, press in the drive shaft
bearing to the inboard joint rh.

Notice:
The bearing should be installed completely.

Measure the voltage and resistance of the
connectors.
Hint:
Check from the rear of the connector while it is
connected to the air conditioning amplifier.
using an oscilloscope, check waveform 1.

Inspection
Inspect lumbar support adjuster assembl
Check operation of the lumbar support adjuster.
Check if the lumbar support adjuster moves
smoothly when the battery is connected to the
lumbar support adjuster motor connector
terminals.
